The broken winged angel

The broken winged angel

A Poem by Rivaxorus

She is the one's who has no face
The one who no one has seen
She silently stands there watching
And praying

Her wings though were fully visible
Plain as day
Beautiful
And clean

As the days passed by
No one seemed to notice
As if she were a statue
Sitting on the end of the building

One day I noticed something
The edges of her wings had turned a bit
ugly
And she was dying

Soon after the broken angel
Tattered and injured
Managed to fly
With those same gray feathers

It was graceful
And yet no one else noticed
Besides me
That broken angel

And yet
....
I never got to see her face

Author's Note

Rivaxorus
My great aunt died last night. She was 80 and died of brain cancer. Someone I've never met but I still felt depressed over her death. So I made this poem for her.

You will be missed great aunt kathy, even if I never got to meet you.

A lovely tribute to your aunt. I am sorry for your loss. Even if we haven't met someone, family is family and loving hearts hurt.
