love & booty

love & booty

A Poem by Nobody.

finally, I stared my own aggression

in the teeth until the mad dog smile faded

and returned on an anonymous tip

to your teary midnight doorstep

with whiskey and chocolate

and a meaty Kleenex shoulder

you said I could play in the yard

but there was no more room for pain

in the heart of your alabaster temple

so, we squirm the satin battlefield

like tangled snakes with tangled priorities

swapping venom until our systems shut down

the rest of the ruins

can wait to be explored

until the treasure room has been plundered

that’s why Jolly Roger grins brighter

than the noblest stars shine

pirates always get more booty

than heroes

I think the poem actually starts with, "Finally I stared my own aggression..." to the end.
The top half doesn't seem to mesh and isn't as relatable as the second half.
Just my two cents.
booty, HA.
