Glass

Glass

A Poem by Serena Monteleone

I feel my heart fall down to my feet

It shatters like glass

There's a million pieces on the ground

You can’t walk without stepping into the shards of translucent daggers

You’re unable to move in this inescapable agony.

The glass protrudes out of your skin,

but it continues on for what seems like an eternity,

and the closest broom is not in your reach.
