I keep the Sabbath, like Emily

I keep the Sabbath, like Emily

A Poem by May Fosnes

I keep the Sabbath

in my bed.

Like Dickinson!

Isn’t that like something she said?

Praising sapient instead.

But, I worry I’m dumbing things down

by deeply loving

a circus clown.

Here I am! Trying to drain

my deep blue brain,

hoping to halt this

burden of decay.
