Sour Tainted Flower

 In my Soul's darkest night
devoured by specter's light
sugar absent Absinthe
don't just defy me, justify me
free my fleeing the Heart of Sorrows
Catch the veiled solemn hour
release my foul tomorrows
my hallowed paths askew
shadows leering, lurking in the corners
my bleeding heart leaking, seeping
blood thickens sickening my sleeping
like glue, it sears shut my eyes
tell the Sandman, "bring healing waters!"
reach in and core me out
make of me a rotten apple pie
consume my heart of forbidden fruit
maggots churn my toxin blessings into progeny
breeding contempt in swallowed pride
I would vomit thee, but sobbing stops me cold
instead I'll wretch your crumbled kingdom
til Love's tower shatters, falls and you lay
helpless amongst the rubble
wrestled at last from my demented pedestal...
