Walking Soft

Walking Soft

A Poem by [Mackenzie]

Footsteps soft,

Silent like shadow,

Gentle on earth

like timid snowfall.

Eyes fixed on the horizon.

Like predator watching prey.

Hawk watches a mouse

so avidly as she.

Behind, black cat follows,

Steps like her on grassy floor,

Soft and silent, but deadly,

Like poison needle.

Walking for endless days,

Watch the horizon for nothing,

Footsteps too soft,

Ghost hiding from nothing.

Fragmented English is intentional. The unclear meaning is intentional. Other than that, what do you think?

A excellent poem. I like the feel and loneliness. A pleasure to read. I had to read a few times.
