A Lovely Distraction.

A Lovely Distraction.

A Poem by Surreal Sabrina

Eyes glued to responsibilities of future endeavors

Your tampered green jacket flashes over my attention

I fearfully look at what I think is only my imagination

But there you stand dark hair and dark eyes

Your sultry smile clutches onto my heart grasping tight

Until it drops into my gut and floats in a sea of wonder

I nonchalantly acknowledge your presence

And you mine

My mind wails out loud if only you could understand what my ‘hello’ meant

The back of your head reflects perfectly through the light of your computer screen

Your smell blends with that of old works of Shakespearean literature

How perfect it would be to make love to you next to the tattered pages of Romeo and Juliet

But there you sit reading the piles of logic books ignoring my obvious affection of for you.

And here I sit admiring my lovely distraction.
