A life lost

A life beginning, a head full of dreams
Just a poor kid from a poor home
With no money or means.
Best friends that he’d play with
Didn’t know what went on;
Nobody knew what his brother had done.
His brother then died
So the secrets he kept stayed locked away
But they took hold of his life from that very day.
No trust, no belief, pretending all is fine
Just drifting through life one day at a time.
Unable to speak of the past locked inside
But keeping it there, meant a part of him died.
