Truth

Truth

A Poem by Kelsie Stoner

I see her in pictures, making faces that look nothing like her
Odd, disfigured lies with only her eyes to tell the truth
Is this her mask?
It is the world she hides from
Only I can see what lies beneath
I fear for the girl inside
Who believes her beauty could be nothing more
Than a joke passed between far-away friends
And for the possibility
That anymore, the mask is all she sees
Like a blanket of security
If only she knew that I could keep her warm
I want that girl
A girl who is so beautiful-
Only the strange facade she wears can make her seem human

In our eyes we see the true beauty. Good poem.

Sweetness. You could fill this one out some more, you have her insecurity well put into words, but there's something missing, I can't quite put my finger on it.
