For woes untold

For woes untold

A Poem by Shadowpain

The moon empties her cup of darkness over the sunlit fields..

Shadow oozes gently over the dirt.

Her breath dampens the voice of life..

A sulfurous smog drips out of the cuts in her womb...

Mother night... gives birth to dead children...

Tears fell like snow flakes from her seeing stones...

the dreadful rivers freeze solid in mere moments..

A vanquished light gasping for air..

Claustrophobic imprisonment..

As they are cast further into darkness..

Her weeping and violent lashing..

She fights with bare tooth and claw and makes deep carvings in the skin of the world...

Her brood weeps in malcontent

ravaged by famine....

a hunger for light...

Her digging tongues fly like veiled daggers...

peeling layer after layer from the fortress walls...

and now...

She finally slumbers

The world left in decaying state...

Her blood thirst quenched.. momentarily

Such is the pain

of love....
