Lost Love

Lost Love

A Poem by Shairan

The words you spoke denied any affection,
but I could see it in your eyes, the devotion.
Your stolen gaze, when you thought I didn't see,
yet you acted like you had no feelings for me.

Your friends, they teased you by some other name,
and my heart wouldn't beat the same.
For my heart would break a little every time,
someone would mention you with a name that's not mine.

My wandering eyes, they search for you,
I wish we could just be together without an issue.
My heart, it still beats a tad faster every time it sees you,
and I keep mopping around after you found someone new.

Sometimes we need to reach and touch - take THAT chance before we can't anymore.

This one has a wistfulness toward a could-have-been.
