The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by Shaly Laevulins

The rain falls down

clouds hide the day

happiness comes like lightning

and as thunder never does stay

The lightning flashes glimpses

of faces in the skies

and as the raging thunder rolls

to our ears it brings their cries

The rain comes down in torrents

washing hatred from this place

but once it stops more hate shall come

to fill the empty space

All we can do is watch

as the war begins to take form

we can only hope that it will end

and be carried away by the storm
