Judas Buddhist

Judas Buddhist

A Poem by Shards

Beautiful Eve

You've come to tempt me
with the fruit deemed forbidden

You let the snake coil around your heart
and now terrified of being alone in your decisions
you wish the same for me

I am innocent and completely free of this sin
yet I love you and am yours unconditionally

So I bite, chew and swallow
no time to taste the bitter consequences

In an instant I feel the change envelop my heart
and I see you standing naked before me
with nothing more to hide

Your eyes, on the ground at first
find mine eventually
and they say what I’m thinking

What shall become of us now?

Great work, and we women can be very tempting LOL!

Of course, the religious overtones work well, and at the end we
are questioning, as we still are today, which makes me think, what
have we accomplished.

I love the original interpretation of sin. Why, how and what now. Very nice poem.

this is a very nice piece about the garden of Eden and Adam and Eve, simple yet not awkward and the flow is very honest. we need more writing like this!

Very nice. I felt the confusion, the strength, that love holds over us.

Well done.
