The Struggle

The Struggle

A Poem by Sharif Muhammad

In the Name of God"the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

The Struggle

If a Soul could be content with what it hath,
Tyranny and oppression would linger elsewhere;
And if a smile could replace a frown in the aftermath,
Injustice would cease and roam in the midst of nowhere.
Yet since when was the Truth easily handled;
Most of The Righteous these days, hide obscurely
And the Bravely Outspoken Men’s lights are dimly candled.
Corruption overrules, while fairness amounts to merely!
Pinpoint to me a safe haven where they could reside;
And I dare thee to preach a new curriculum of reasoning.
None, is there?! For Right and Wrong are Naturedly ingrained for us to abide.
Now: thy duty is to help recompense lives and wealth lost in manners so demeaning;
Tis no easy task, but Candid Morality, in the long-run, is always rewarded,
For even if Tyranny seems like a raging beast; in reality, it is cowardly sordid.
