Its Something

Its Something

A Poem by Bob Dobbs

Its the caffeine, the opiates, the nicotine
The toxins flowing through my bloodstream
Its my dreams that scream erupting while asleep
Its the police and the war on the street
Starving while others throw away what they dont eat
Its the bombs and guns, the corporate thugs and the lack of love
Its the smog and cars, the choking tars, greed and war
Its consumerism and you'll always want more
Images telling me what i need from the other side of the TV
Its the status quo and being lost without a direction to go
A life alone looking for a direction, looking for a home
Its the poison in our food that we consume
The technology that fills our lives with apathy and disease
Conditioned till we become the machine
Its the government, trying to make a dollar from fifteen cents
Its atomic death and genocide, clear cuts and the apathy of homocide
The drugs and the booze
Its that your all confused
Its something
Like all humans, its everything but me
