Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by Shay33

As I stood,
Gazing in all directions,
There was nothing.
As far as the naked eye
Could see,
Nothing.
Nothing but catastrophic winds,
Tearing the very ground,
And the grounds after that,
Away from the Earth.
Nothing but blood-stained soil
From decades of warfare.
Nothing but billowing clouds
Of smoke, steam and dust,
Vapors, clouding my eyes
So that I could not see
All of the
Nothing,
Or lack thereof.

We mistake at times that this state of nothing means nothing..whereas nothing could be everything just as everything could be nothing...
Beautiful write with such fluidity of words.

. it's great to zero in on the zero sometimes ... especially when you do with this sort of brilliance ... there's so much left to be created ... yet ... and i agree ... excellent subject ... you make it your own in no time ... and the last two lines are truly spectacular ... you have an incredible gift for words ...
