Wilted

Wilted

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

As the petals of a flower wilts away
My love for you, deminshes each day
What a big disappointment, you turned out to be
Your flattery and lust, didn't impress me

The inadequate supply of love you gave
Now it's my life, in which I must save
You have wilted me down, in a state of despair
I must find the strength, of this burden I bare

Even though I tried, so hard to be
The one in your world, your life and dream
Sometime's opposite, does not attract
I'm proof of the fading, withering fact

Now it's time for me to bloom
To come out of despair, grief and gloom
If you pass me by, out on the street
You'll remember the flower, you let go free

I wish it was so easy to let someone go, someone you value more than your life. But someone who justs wants to be your best friend. Who until the week of hell had been closer to me than anyone in my life. Who knows me and knows what happened to me. But still my anger and rage drove her away and I can see why.
