Rescue Me

Rescue Me

A Poem by Shelby

Sitting and laughing,

Your smile

Turns my heart over

And silently I

Ask you to

Rescue me.

Darling, please take me

In your arms

Take me over

With silly charms,

But your eyes can’t see

And you’re deaf to me.

So, shrugging,

I’ll laugh along

Though it will feel

Oh so wrong.

When will you wake up

And set my voice free?

I’m calling you, dear,

Though silently,

To rescue me.

For with every chuckle

I’m wailing inside

Swearing at my

Torturous pride,

And still,

Your eyes can’t see

And you’re so deaf to me.

Hmmm, sounds like a torturous relationship, all right.
Fine poetry.

This is very good, we all have those days.

There seems in our lives a point where we all need to be saved.
I hate it when you want to cry out for help and it all falls on deaf ears.
Thanks for sharing.
