My heart beats

Like a double bass

My soul rattles like the skins I beat

 

I crack the shells of society

For you my love

I'd play loves drums

Until the end of time

I'd quit playing

If it was for you

 

No I can't feel like this

This is uncanny

This is insane

This can't  be true

I must be dying

I love comparisons of drums to love. The drums are the heartbeat of the band. Without them, the frontmen and "real" musicians would be lost.

I can tell you know your drums, but it's not overdone. And I like the juxtoposition of the lines
"For you my love
I'd play loves drums
Until the end of time"
and "I'd quit playing
If it was for you"

If the drums are the heartbeat, then to play them would be to live for the person, and to stop playing them would be to die for them.

A good metaphor, fun yet meaningful, and one I like. Keep up the good work and keep sending the RRs.
