Deaths cold embrace

Deaths cold embrace

A Poem by Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of Poetry

Icy breath

Numb fingertips

Chest tightening

Like a lovers final embrace

Fading words

Ringing in your ears

A ghostly shadow

Lingers forth

A look of grimace and malice

Coming into focus

A skeletal figure

Covered only by black silk robes

Lifes nemesis

And a dying mans wish

Heartbeat slows

As his shadow shortens

You feel his presence

Satans right hand man beckons you

Falling to your knees

Begging for time

As you feel his breath on your face

His now outstretched hands near

Gripping and releasing the air

His icy fingers grip

Your shoulders

So smooth

This is the final embrace

And it is His
