She

She

A Poem by Shezza

Something within me,
Festers, lingers, burns,
She is ferocious and all consuming,
A wild heart,
I keep in a cage,
Between my ribs,
And broken dreams,
And she wants to come out and play.

I really loved the last line "And she wants to come out and play". Was this influenced by Pablo Neruda by any chance because I can feel a Neruda vibe going on? Anyway, really excellent poem!

Thank you. I have always loved Neruda but this one just came from "She", I suppose :D
I'm not so sure it's wise to allow a festering anything out of its cage. Sounds dangerous! ;)

All the better to let it out to play every now and again :)
