Self Loathing

Self Loathing

A Poem by Shiningdarkmoon

Self Loathing

I see myself in the mirror,

The image shatters,

Hundreds of little blades,

Reflecting what I truly am,

All my flaws surround me,

The mock me with my faults,

Yet the blades know all,

The tiny knives comfort me,

They understand my pain, my hatred,

I feel them in my skin,

My hands carve out the path,

The blood, the pain, the scars,

At last I see the light,

Emotions are flowing into me,

I relish the moment, the escape,

Clear tears pour down my face,

Crimson tears drip down my flesh,

Past mistakes transform into red rubies,

My true self is scattered around me,

I try to see myself for what I truly am,

But all I see are my beautiful jewels.
