The Fountain

The Fountain

A Poem by John the Baptist Unbaptised

Queen Isabella,

Look beyond the golden nebula of your sight
and you will find me there

Sweeping in the fires and heat of love,
like a death god sweeping the Cold House
in deep piety and reverence of your beauty

I will not consent to love against your will
Neither will I pray that it does not come to
pass

Instead, I will make a secret promise in my
heart
to love even when I am not to be loved

Beyond the prohibitive degrees of prayer
and uncertainty

Far behind the measures of fear and
indecisiveness

Where our allies, enemies, and malefactors
will not reach us again

Th intensity of your imagery smolders. This feels like I'm stepping into another realm. An unknown futuristic beauty possibly never seen before awaits us on the other side. Mysterious, challenging and beautifully written.

I wondering if this poem is inspired by movie Fountain by Darren Aronofsky . It's quiet long time ago when I saw it. But not just name Isabella but also how your work with symbols. Is quiet strongly reminds me that movie. Strong emotions of relationship with time barriers and losing of faith during the hard times. This is what i get here. Very powerful and strong writing.
