Outside my Open Window

Outside my Open Window

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

The pages flutter by

as words escape my eyes

I am taken to dream

a beautiful scene

where upon my lips

is placed a kiss

the best I have ever

felt before

yet alone in this bed I rest

who has haunted me this eve

blessed me with sweet love

only an Angel from above

could have passed this feeling to me

or twas it only a dream.

A lover of old perhaps

has come back to me again

to cleanse me of impurity

place a smile upon my skin

with the sweet grasping that I feel

towards him

I wonder who I might have been

to have ever felt such longing

for a true love in reality

but twas only a dream

or was it a haunting

subliminally met between two worlds

apart yet united as One

beneath the moon's glow

outside my open window.

Beautiful, peaceful, wistful...I love your beginning, reading and drifting into sleep, seamlessly passing from one realm to the next, not sure in which you are experiencing these events and emotions. Wonderful, pleasant read, Siddartha.
