Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Waiting for you

to see if you would ever

say 'Yes' it is you

You, You

that I needed all along

Yet, my heart sings a

somber song

as you still remain

as one without the other

no me in the conundrum

just You again

And you does not mean

me and I in this instance

but you is still the lonely number

of one without the other

lost, wanted yet unfulfilled

longing for that other half

flag at half staff

In the end again

there is You

once again

you do me in

as I separate my being

and remain me

in serenity

without You.

The yearning for the special someone. How our emotions can cause the heart to want. I was thinking the other day. Wouldn't it be nice if we all could stay single and pick the fantasy of a love by the push of a button, drift off to sleep and let our souls play out what we long for.

Just a thought...lol

Nice poem for some one you love.

One is the loneliest number... rings throughout this and the waiting for that missing piece is heart breaking.
I can hear "with or without you" (U2) in my head now...Lovely

The waiting in solitude is so difficult, and you convey this so beautifully!!!!! It breathes of anticipation and somber shadows. Wonderful write!

This reminds me of one of my own work (I waited in Rain)
And that's why I really felt your emotions and feelings behind this writing...
The wait for that person and then facing the disappointment is really such a sad thing to happen..
Very heart wrenching! :'(

"as I seperate my being

and remain me

in serenity

without You."- Great lines (Guess I think it should be "Separate", I mean just a typo :) )
Brilliant work! Keep writing :)
