Believe

Believe

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

What does your

spirit say to me

I ponder

as we banter about

yet I wonder

what it is beneath

that stare

that wanders there-

begging to be freed

silenced all your life

something that not

even you believe in

wholely-

yet I can see it

animate you

dance within your eyes

when you speak

hear it in the soft

whispers that you keep

while you sleep.

What does your

spirit say to me?

It says believe

in yourself,

in me,

in humanity

as we walk a

new path

sometimes arm in arm

sometimes far apart

yet always

your spirit

says 'Believe'

in your children

and mine

their smiles we find

divine-

Believe.

Beautiful, Siddartha. :)

You've created a wonderful poem here, full of faith, passion, and companionship.

My favorite lines:

"yet I can see it
animate you
dance within your eyes
when you speak
hear it in the soft
whispers that you keep
while you sleep."

Bravo! :D
