Numb

Numb

A Poem by Sierra Erway

Sometimes, I can look at the moon

and not feel a thing.

Sometimes, I like the icy wind

hitting against my already frozen skin.

Numb.

Sometimes, I can look at the sun

and already be blind.

Sometimes, I can burn my already scorched skin

and not feel the flame.

Numb.

Sometimes, I can take a hit

and not feel the bruises.

Sometimes, I can drag a blade across my already shredded skin

and not feel it bleed.

Numb.

Sometimes, I feel nothing

and block out the world.

Because pain will break me,

Like it has - thousands of times before.

And most of the times I can read your poetry and be touched by its beauty and power...Bravo
