Manic Delusions

Manic Delusions

A Poem by Sierra Erway

The moon shines down and makes a rainbow on my window...
The waves of the ocean rise past the shore and into my bedroom...
Tiny dancing shadows creep across the walls...
Colorful beams of light ignite on my ceiling
from my mind
as I drift into my imagination...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Swaying between the bedposts, getting dizzy in my head...
Little drops of rain forming on and falling from my eyelashes...
My closed, tired eyes spring open wide,
dilating and shining as I watch everything going through my unconscious mind...
Curtains begin to flow into a sea of hardwood, swirling 'round and 'round...
And as I move around my thoughts, my skin begins to burn...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Frantic and running, wild and crazy
trying to escape from everything inside me.
The black cat's eyes are watching my every move...
Following me and possessing me,
taking over my being...
Evil little beast scratching at my door,
begging for affection I will no longer offer it.
