I am a worthless waste of space'

forever doomed to walk in the shadow of people around me.

I can only bask in the product of their talents

and wish to be half as good as them.

They are so full while I am so empty...

I'm nothing compared to everyone I see.

I am lost in this life

While everyone else seems to be able to find their way through...

I am dying here.

And since I am stuck in the shadows,

Nobody can find me...

Well... Damn. I think you've summarized what people feel when they post writing and no one reads it. Or with my luck, you wrote this with something completely different in mind like how you feel about turtles or something. No matter what you meant though, I liked this, and that's coming from someone who infinitely despises poetry.

Edit: I know I'm editing this after about two minutes, but I realized why I actually like this poem. I'm a thick-skinned guy and very direct, and because poetry is very emotionally oriented, it just doesn't mesh well with me, but I think not being responded too and living in shadows of great people is something that everyone who writes feels. Once again, really nice.

Definitely not primarily about turtles! HAHA!! It's more about the people I have wanted to be like, and have watched from afar, whether they were just a classmate or closer friend or friend of a friend, you know. I still have not been able to step out of the shadows and admire them out loud.. But, sincerely, thank you, I am glad my poem stuck out to you and you liked it!
