The Misfits and The Misfires

The Misfits and The Misfires

A Poem by Madeline

Life is better for the misfits.

For the troublemakers and the time bombs.

For the ones who can't be contained and measured.

The unpredictable ones and the ones no one knows what to do with.

Here's to the ones who stand out from all the jaywalkers and the trash-talkers.

The ones brave enough to step out of the system and think for themselves.

The ones who fall to feel because their minds swim far too deep.

Look out for the cliff jumpers and the train hoppers,

The ones who can't stay in one place too long.

Look for the ones with pacing eyes when all others are fixed,

The one standing at the edge of the circle, listening and observing.

Hold on to the ones who stir things up,

Who cause people to be uncomfortable with their words and presence.

The ones who no one looks in the eyes in fear that they'll see beyond their lies.

These are the ones who will change things.

They are the misfits and the misfires,

The unforgettable and the unattainable.

Very creative, it is apparent you have a vivid imagination and the ability to transform it into fun and fanciful works of literature. I only had time to read two of your poems this morning but I am looking forward to reading all of your works.
