To Choose

To Choose

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

I check hands for cigarettes,

I check hands for guns,

I check hands, for little hands,

of daughters and sons.

Of daughters and sons

their own hands will they have,

to check and to choose

of good fortune and bad.

But from hungrier hands,

there's no choice to be had!

We know it all better, and

we know it all bad, so we

strive for the hand

of this fortunate game,

until we wake up

with our hands not the same.

Love this poem.

we know it all bad"

A very great subject you come up with. Now-a-days, it's must to look through the analogies of worldly affairs & get to shape the fortunate life rather, getting dwell to nowhere.. for nothing. Nice imagery. You kinda capture the realism of world into your politically evocative words. Sounds interesting. I'd be looking forward to reading your work!
