Past Occurences Always Reveal Themselves

Past Occurences Always Reveal Themselves

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

Forgive.

It is a word we all know well, yet in reprieve,

we seem to forget how much it can cripple us,

so in these words that I now breathe aloud, I hope you understand,

that dreams I once had dream't about

I no longer keep within my head.

but understand.

I care a lot about the past,

no time traveler could reap me of it,

no sand trapped in a glass could catch me--

listen to the words I say, I take for granted for my everyday

and know

that nothing ever changes that.

in some lights,

I can recall the good and bad, try and weigh them out,

logic fighting my every impending thought.

though of the heart's true desires....

I've known both lovers and liars,

and in this world, I need that balance of two,

no matter how the future bends,

I know I've made mistakes and profits,

and in the end I hope, those lost from my path

will someday understand

to never fear the way.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
