Numbing Colombine

Numbing Colombine

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

The earth beneath me writhes in wonder,
how could such solace pilf' and plunder?
While life's once merrily residing smile,
waits locked within a gaping tomb.

I will not ask for simple romances or wines,
or other ways to love and woo, for
I know I am not destined, to love,
as another surely would.

rest assured here through the canyons
where the night haunts very souls to sleep
and keep apart our hearts and begs for more intuition
as I knew that forever friends I've none.

Standing alone, I regard each moment as its own
the gun of nightfall gleaming in mine eye as I watch
and know
I can only bear this alone.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
