Let Me Take All This Pain From You

Let Me Take All This Pain From You

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

life,
how it passes by in increments,
its astounds us with its beauty and repercussion.
yet my deeper eye,
I can't see past deprivation,
your aching heart so saddening to behold--
so I wish I could have you,
clenching my shoulders in both hands,
I am your soothing embrace,
your love in every way.
You're not a bother,
never could be if you tried, so let me love you,
let me love you properly, I know it's not right.
The helplessness, the torture, all this hurt--
ya wanna give it away!
Take all the pain from you!
I'll heal you best I can because love,
I don't want you to fall.
Don't think for once I'd let you flounder, so weak so life
that you wouldn't how to stand--
I wouldn't ever want know of that!
I want to be your lullaby, the very backbone of your smile, and likewise,
it hurts my healing embrace.....
cannot reach your borders where I stand now.
It hurts to know I can't properly save you.

I'm just another person. Just like you; my art the object of knowledge in understanding who I am and how I am. And that, simply, is enough about me. more..
