The Divorce: A Heart's Perspective

The Divorce: A Heart's Perspective

A Poem by Kristine Ferg

In one moment it can be littered;

grounds once stood on, broken,

relationships severed.

Any amount of words to take the crime,

with gritted teeth and a broken-run-down heart

so cold from the winter,

even frozen to the touch, so much so

any man would find it to be dead.

yet not so, it says.

it can move on;

it just needs room to breathe,

new walls to feel, and new desires to take over---

controlling,

for I trust it's in control,

so here are the papers,

but I hope you'll let it know

that I still love you.

So true! It's when people can turn the negatives of a divorce and turn them into positives for the individuals and the friendship. It's the only way to go. Emotions will always be there, for the time woven while together simply isn't erased.

Great Ink!
