Moon Child

Moon Child

A Poem by Melissa
"

Found this hiding in a notebook a bit ago. not the best i've done, but i like it well enough.

"

Can i sleep
or will fear overtake me
can i dream
or will my mind
twist dreams into nightmares
i may walk
in the land of the living
but my mind is overcome
by the melody of night
as the wind causes trees
to sing of what they've seen
and the wolf howls
giving praises to the moon
the shadow-void hides the rebels
who cannot see the light
it burns their eyes
and flesh clean to the bone
i walk the line
of dark and day
my power hollowed
from worship of the sun
the moon holds the key
to the power i've lost
i want to go back
to the darkness
calling to me
heart and soul
i cannot escape
the music of the night
but i cannot return
the light holding me tightly
the angel
too pure, innocent
to be corrupted
even by the demons of my life
light clings to him
like molten gold
and illuminates the darkness
i remember my humanity
and the silver falls away
