Who We Are

Who We Are

Who We Are

Who we are is what we do
We say so much, not always true
No lame excuse or strange idea
Just simple truth we sometimes fear

Face up then to the light and dark
Embrace the lion, defeat the shark
Move on to pastures fresh and new
The future is awaiting you

We're all the same yet so diverse
Expression may become a curse
A need to grow and learn each day
But tread with care your chosen way

The earth is where we've been so long
We need its power, we must be strong
Yet minds can move to moon and star
Don't be afraid of who we are

I'm personally not a fan of the rhyme scheme your using here but I like your message. It might be good exercise to try your hand at free verse just to see what happens.
