The Last Prayer

The Last Prayer

A Poem by Janice

Before I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord will hear me weep
I hope I die before I wake
One more day I can not take
This I plead for my own sake

Amen!

Not the prayer I believe God wants to hear. You caught me by surprise. A powerful poem.

Beautiful grasp of a deadly wish...touching. The rhymes flowed beautifully. If you kept that up, you could make a longer version of this with all the gory details in a poetic way... Good job!! :D Love love loved it!

Oh my friend whats all the sadness..I hope its just a sudden weakness, yes the soul sometimes give in to pressures of life..
I have seen you through your wonderful writings and words, some gave real pleasure, some very creative works..
some that I came to read time and time again for I loved them a lot..and the one that wrote them must be very special
and so dear that you would not falter,I have not seen you or known you in person, but somehow i have some vague idea
of a very great strong character behind those words that I could never forget..they gave me some wonderful time reading them..
sad ,very sad write..
