Goodnight, my love

I wrote this originally as lyrics to a song, but it is also a poem. It was me when I was experiencing love for the first time.

Goodnight, my love
See you in a while
When I wake you will be gone
but you'll always be in my heart

Distance never separates
It only draws us nearer
I can feel you deep within
the interiors of my soul.

I may not be old and wise
but I know to never say goodbye.
For a goodbye is only a see you later.

I can't see you
You can't see me
yet I know you reside in me
as I reside in you.
