Ending the Game

Ending the Game

A Poem by Merle Van Dee

In the hazy air
   Surrounding my mind
Where the chemicals of my despair
   Mix and wind
Through rotting veins.
   The cymbals class
And my life seems brash,
But I'll walk by your side
If you'll walk by mine.
   Through my confusion
We'll march, and I promise
   I'll do my best
To better myself
For His or Her good name
In hopes of ending this game.
