PERHAPS

PERHAPS

A Poem by WritersBay

Perhaps I am whatever they say I am
Perhaps the rain only falls one way
Perhaps love cannot be felt by a clam
Perhaps here and forever I will stay

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps.

And perhaps I do have no purpose
Only a flower waiting to wither
A slave to time’s merciless curse
And, perhaps IT WILL never get better.

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps.

But perhaps I don’t care for perhapses.
Perhaps I am free to be crazy.
Freedom of idiosyncrasy.
Is it so hard to understand me?
A weed must be allowed to grow in liberty
Lie to yourself and wish for my conformity.

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps, stay in your perhaps and let me be me.
