Helpless but hopeful

Helpless but hopeful

A Poem by Enigma
"

Something new....

"

I'm helpless

Yet, I'm hopeful

Out here, alone in this world

Where people murder each other for money

Where women are abused for momentary pleasures

Where children are nothing but labrourers

Where a mother finds herself

Unable to feed the empty stomach

Of her malnutritioned child

Where wars are more common than festivals

I'm helpless

I can't change what needs to be changed

I can't make people care

I can't make the hearts of the heartless throb once again

I'm helpess as ever

But I'm hopeful that things will change

That someone with more courage and determination

Will take up this job

And serve the humanity

In the way it deserves to be treated

Oh! I'm so helpless....

But I'm hopeful...

you had an error 2nd stanza line 2, changee to change.

It is innocent and it shows concern, you have brought out thought provoking and powerful phrases. A mother who is aware but helpless about the plight of her starving malnourished child.

It is light and simple, and is meant to convey a message, your message, your emotions, and hope.

Although, we can all do our best in our little ways (if you ask me). I believe one of the writers even recommended a site. Good job

That's really deep! Very good though! About the malnourished children, might I add this is completely out of the blue, there is a website called freerice.com which you learn vocabulary while giving back to the poor!
