Painful, yet true

Painful, yet true

A Poem by Enigma

It's painful, yet true

That I'm a nobody

No one important enough to be remembered.

I died and now I float among the clouds

Without any form of shape

But the thoughts, they exist

Flowing beside me...

Doesn't anyone remember me?

I fly to my birthplace

To a place that I found my first friends

Where I learned to ride my first bike

No a single familiar sight, there remains

Painful, yet true...

I fly to my school, nearby

With it's huge buildings

and the enormous playground

Where is it now?

That church where I used to hang around with my friends?

what's that new building?

I fly

Trying not to cry

But the tears fall down

I can feel them on my whole 'form'

Or maybe it's the rain

Not a single memory of mine remains

No one knows I existed

In some lost page of time

My friends, family

All have turned to faded pictures

In my mind

They fall apart with each passing minute

And I lose myself

Into the vast expanse of the sky

Looking at thousands of such form floating beside me

Lost in time and space...

Lost and forgotten...

Forever...

You are far from an insignificant being! Here on WC, you play a major role in many peoples lives. Your wonderful poetry and word choice impacts my life, in some way, every single time I read it. I have those moments where you feel like you just want to die, and that no one will remember you. The truth is that everyone you meet, everyone you have impacted, will remember you. In a sense, you will live on in their hearts and never disappear. There is absolutely no way someone could forget a wonderful person like you. Siya, you don't need to feel like an insignificant being. No one, absolutely NO ONE is an insignificant being! If you need someone to talk to, I'm here to listen. :)

Wonderful poem, Siya! It had its "emo" side to it, but I enjoyed it. I've felt like this many times, and can relate too much (as usual xD). I whole-ly enjoyed this piece, because it seemed like a story more then a poem. I also enjoyed how the "main character" was not alone in this state, and had many others with him/her that had also been forgotten.
Thanks for being a wonderful writer, Siya! Wonderful poem, yet again! :)

Siya, I really, really, really loved this but there is one thing I you need to know. You are not worthless. Like Kantola says, "You play a major role in peoples lives." Well, she says that because it is so true on so many damned levels it's almost freaky how much impact you have on a lot of us. You've helped me get through really hard times, you've gotten me to smile (even if it may have been a miniscule smile) when I thought the world was practically going to end for me. I rely on you, if you like it or not, you're one of my closest friends on Writers Cafe. Even if we haven't talked a ton lately because of my moving and stuff! Please see that, Siya. You are wonderful. You'll change the world, even if its only a bunch of people's worlds, you will. You're now. Affecting me, it's changed my world as I know it. Your a sister to me; a beloved sister!

Back to the poem:

I really loved it, like always! This has shown a darker side to you that some people may never have no existed. You show how depression changes someones view about themselves and that it changes people in general. You also say how that you are not suffering alone, that others are with you and thats so true. I mean just look at me. I think I am. But you... you're not! So, anyway. I loved this poem!

I agree with Kantola... You are a good writer! Whoever writes will always be remembered by their works. You have got a lot of friends here! They will miss you. I for one would miss your read requests if they suddenly would stop!
Secondly, no-one's life is insignificant, though many do not realise that people care for them.
But, your poem has got an element of modesty.
Modesty that is not often found.
Many would not be able to write this poem, because they think themselves special when they are not. Those are the ones that will be forgotten after they are gone, because they are one of the proverbial fish.
You my dear, are not!
Your poem shows that you care about those that are forgotten.
Many would not.
You do!

You're not insignificant on this world. Everyone means more then they can ever believe. Thank you for giving me a chance to read your poem. I liked how it seemed like one was coming back from the world of the dead to look upon the world that has changed. Lovely work. Sad, but lovely.
