Fight a losing battle

Come, Live the moment

With me

Have all your diplomacies

Over shadowed

Let irrational passion

Drive you to your wits end

Foreshadowing your ideals

Be primitive

Be free

Be you, yourself

But beware

For the ties of disguise

Bind you to love

Reality fends off alone

Have you known?

Liberate your mind

Crush your heart

All at the same time

I hold on to the facade

With  patient smiles

And naive innocence

The horrors of lonliness

Are a bit too much to take

But don't push me too far

Make a stone of my heart

For if it stops beating, but once

It won't beat again

And a stone does not need a friend

I like the poem a lot. You create a feel and emotion of wisdom and appreciation for life in the amazing poetry. So many strong statements in the poem. I like the complete poem. The ending made the poem complete. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

This kind of reminds me of the old Paul Simon song, "I am a Rock." Different use of language, but a similar idea. Interesting write, anyway.

In solitude I shall find a release to all the pain, and should my heart turn to stone then this I shall call Victory.

Had to read this poem four or five times, written in a few moments......Wonderful.

Don't let em harden your heart against a friend. It's not worth it believe me, I know. Very good poem here Enigmatic Soul. I enjoyed reading it very much..

Its kinda upbeat for a lonely write... if those are even the right words I was searching for. I enjoyed this though! Nicely done!

Yes sometimes loneliness is quite a horror but can also be fulfilling at certain times. I guess it is all in balance. lovely poem!

I stopped watching ' Road to Avonlea ' because it came to resemble the color of my fingernails. Turned my life into a movie set. The facade that people present is similar. To disguise from another when the familiarity is too strong, can't be a crime. A poem that reminds one of a period before time.
