Remembering...

I remember the stars
And their delicate sheen
If only as a distant memory

My glittering gateways
Pulling me up into the lighted dark of the night
Shedding the remains of a remote realm

As I walked through a dream
With the soft silence of the night
Each passing moment, I was
Cautious of my escape into the unknown
And of the unwanted intruders

Hushed up melodies found their escape,
As did I
In a trance, I lived my life
Once, twice, as many times as I could
Orbiting the forgotten present
Challenging destinies
I was everything
As everything was me

I remember the stars
And their delicate sheen
If only as a distant memory
A wish away from bliss
