Recreate the Perfection

Recreate the Perfection

A Poem by Enigma

Life

It lies there, trapped

Within the fading lines

Of all the perfect memories

In a face that held my gaze

A second too soon

And a moment too long

In those whispered words

A connection across continents

Or a silence that need not break

For his presence was but a series of faint breaths

In the reluctant understanding

Of growing up

And hesitant steps out into the world

Looking back to a pair of eyes

Watering pride and care

Why should I walk with my head turned?

My vision blocked with a past perfection

Of a life, now unreal

Let me step out and tread the unused trails

To discover the perfection not yet made

Love this line. Create your own path, Perfection is you being you. Thats the true definition of perfection. Of course your going to look back, its natural but dont stay in the past keep moving forward. Good writing loved it. Thankyou so much

I like the description and the wisdom in your poem. Must seek new places and be content with our journey. Thank you for the excellent poem.

A unique perspective and experience of an impulse, like an epiphany, that is sought after again for the meaning it may have hinted at. A sensation which lights our path in the long journey for self understanding. Nice write!

"A connection across continents"
Hints at a long distance relationship again.
Your poetry is wistful. It brings with it oodles of nostalgia, served with a spoonful of sighs.

"In a face that held my gaze
A second too soon
And a moment too long"
So hauntingly beautiful :) I think it is rare to come across a fellow Indian with such great diction and cadence, on Writers Cafe.

Thank you for this poem!

P.S. I love the font :)
