soul thief

soul thief

A Poem by Skitter

"
he grabs my hands
spins me in circles
the dizzying sensation makes me
...lightheaded

it's an open window
thoughts exposed
suddenly a passionate evening
becomes an opportunity
for possession

she takes my mind
he doesn't know
he smiles into my eyes

we were intoxicated
and he still is
he grabs my waist
which is now hers
and dips her low to the ground

I panic, she laughs
she lures him into the bedroom
playfully leading him
by his work tie

my stomach would drop
if it still belonged to me
'please see it's not me'
his eyes are on fire

she knows this house
every crevice
she knows his weaknesses
every like and dislike
she is in my mind
...usually

now, she's out
he slips his tongue
down her throat
she grabs the gun
beside the bed

he doesn't know
he doesn't know

her excitement
chills my spine
her pleasure
makes me sick

his body goes stiff beneath her
as he realizes this is wrong
he can feel the devil
that resides beneath my flesh

his eyes go wide
his heart races
but it's too late
she has the gun
she has me
she has him

'I stole her life'
she said to him
'and I'll take yours
tonight'

cold metal
against flesh
and that's when I
lost my whole world
