Do You Remember

Do You Remember

A Poem by Sleep Practice

you stand in a forest

you stand on smooth wet grass with bare feet

the wind comes to you

carrying the sounds of swaying branches and falling leaves

the sun

leaking through the trees

there is nothing to say so you dont speak

you breathe

and listen

and feel

It waits

in the darkness

behind the trees

and moves closer when you close your eyes

the sun warms you

and the wind keeps you standing

you let out a breath, and it's carried away

you open your eyes

and they're drawn to the moon

It pulls on you

you step closer

you reach, and close your eyes

It moves closer

It reaches

you touch

you exhale

It subdues

and you surrender

It comforts and caresses

and you care about nothing else

you smile

you shiver

you sleep

and you smolder
