I lost a sip of coffee

I lost a sip of coffee

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"And on the eigth day, God made coffee"

"

My caffeine GPS
Signalled the alarm -
A last sip of coffee has gone missing
Just before sunrise.
I retraced my steps -
It's not at the breakfast table
And not on the tumble dryer.
It's not in the loo where I wrote a quick
Letter to mom,
And neither in the lounge
Where I tied a shoelace or two.
I spared a thought for that last sip,
It probably wanted to give me a quick boost
But our morning chaos pulled us apart.
All suited and tied, I reach my car
And, smiling on the roof, I find my happy mug
This time a sip of cold coffee
Tasted like liquid heaven.

At just the title, I could hardly breathe. I know too well the horror of losing coffee, or missing out on what's needed to survive the day. So thankful for the happy ending to your tragic moments!
