Against the same rock

Against the same rock

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

In the morning
my head I hit against a rock I love to hate
it laughed, then smirked, and enjoyed its stronghold grip.

At noon, amazingly,
I did it again
this time the rock exploded with such hilarity
that it slipped through the cracks and into my growing resolve.

At night, I smiled
I stepped over that old rock
and swerved right around a new one
I fell asleep, with a dream-stirred thought -
maybe tomorrow could be a day without new scars.
